KAPU®-HE – an energy-absorbing safety pole
The unique structure of the KAPU®-HE pole brings a vehicle to a controlled stop by absorbing the impact energy generated in a collision. KAPU®-HE protects not only the occupants of the vehicle but also other road users. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for placement near pedestrian and cycling paths, intersections, and areas where there is a risk of veering into trees or rock formations.
The cone-shaped KAPU®-HE pole falls into the highest class, HE, 100, according to the EN 12767 standard. Poles in this class can be used on all roads to improve traffic safety.
KAPU®-HE 8 m and 10 m poles belong to the safest category for passengers, HE 3.
KAPU®-NE – a vehicle-yielding safety pole
KAPU®-NE poles safely yield to a vehicle in the event of a collision. The Finnish Transport Agency recommends using KAPU®-NE poles in locations where there are no pedestrian or cycling paths or trees behind the poles.
Compliant with the EN 12767 standard and CE-marked, NE poles are available in heights ranging from 4 to 15 meters. The hot-dip galvanized tapered steel pole is also suitable for bridge-mounted installations. KAPU-NE is classified under standard class 100, NE, 2.
